Nudges and reminders
PaperThread sends a nudge to a blocker or a reminder, with a link back to the case.
Approvals
An approval DM can include Approve, Snooze, or Route for approval, using the same approval rules as Today.
Thread record
Sending a Slack DM adds a Thread event with the message id and status.

If Slack identity is missing, fall back to email or the app and keep a person on the case.

It lets an employee ask PaperThread in a private DM, and it sends nudges, approvals and reminders there. The outcome is recorded in a Thread.
The direct message tied to the request, and the Slack identity of the people involved. It does not monitor Slack channels, groups, or unrelated message history.
It can send a DM for a reply, nudge, reminder or approval when Slack allows that post. Those messages do not change employee or payroll records.
A workspace admin connects Slack so PaperThread can send and receive private DMs. Public channels are not required, and channel history is not read.
If the Slack identity is missing, PaperThread falls back to email or the app. If another system has to make the change, a person stays on the case and the Thread records the limit.
A workspace admin starts from Connect Slack and approves the Slack app. People then ask, and receive nudges, approvals and reminders, in a private DM.
